Celebrating Our National Spotlight: Baby Yams on the Tamron Hall Show!

I am beyond thrilled to announce that Baby Yams made a very important national appearance on the Tamron Hall Show! I have been a big fan of the show for years. This appearance allowed us to reach millions of households, sharing not only our beautiful blankets, but also the stories behind them and the mission we stand for. 

What It Means to Reach Millions

As Black Maternal Health Week approaches in April, it's a chance to raise awareness about the importance of culturally congruent maternal care in our communities and the role of supportive environments for new parents. 

A Special Personal Connection

Throughout my career as an actor, singer, and activist, I have been honored to appear on various national and international television shows. However, this broadcast holds a special meaning for me. It's my second time appearing on the show, but this time I got to talk with Emmy Award winning journalist Tamron Hall about more than my ongoing acting projects and my history as a performer. I got to tell her and her audience all  about Baby Yams!

As some of you already know, Baby Yams comes from a very deep place in my history, and the opportunity to share it with a sister like Tamron and her audience is both an honor and a privilege. Telling the Story of Maternal Care

As I discussed my journey on the Tamron Hall Show, I highlighted my own experience as a birthing person in America and how focusing on Black maternal healthcare is an essential part of reclaiming our reproductive rights. Access to quality reproductive health care is imperative and currently under attack. By elevating the conversation around Black maternal health and amplifying the incredible work being done by Reproductive Justice activists and birth workers across the country, I hope to encourage and emposer families and promote the idea that every parent has the right to care that nurtures both them, their children and their reproductive choices.

Living a Soft Life

I hope my appearance conveyed the good news that everyone is talking about: we deserve to live a “soft life”, one filled with care, support, beauty and love, free from harm or fear. Our innate beauty resonates and radiates in everything we put our hands on, creating a ripple effect of abundance and joy! This is especially possible when we take care of our communities and open our hearts to hear each other’s stories.
