Join Baby Yams at the Black Moms Fair in Dallas, TX on July 26!

I am beyond excited to share that Baby Yams is headed to Dallas, Texas this Saturday, July 26th, for the Black Moms Fair! I can’t wait to be there, connecting with new people, sharing our beautiful Baby Yams quilts, and celebrating an incredible community of Black moms and entrepreneurs.

I’ve always loved to travel. When I was making music, I enjoyed touring, performing, and connecting with fans all over the world. Whether I was in New York, L.A., London, or Paris, I loved experiencing new places, meeting new people, and sharing my art. Now, with Baby Yams, I get to do that again — but in a totally new way. It’s an incredible feeling to be back on the road, sharing my passion for these gorgeous, small batch designs and creating new memories with each stop.

One of my favorite things about taking Baby Yams on the road is the opportunity to meet people face-to-face. I love watching them light up when they see how beautiful these blankets are in person. There’s something so powerful about feeling the warmth and quality of our quilts in your own hands, seeing the intricate detail up close, and hearing about the stories behind each piece. Touching, feeling, and experiencing the craftsmanship makes such a difference — it’s a whole other level compared to browsing online or imagining what the blankets are like.

While e-commerce offers an extraordinary opportunity to reach customers in their homes and on their devices, there’s still something truly special about shopping in person. There’s nothing quite like spending time with one another, feeling textures, and sharing stories in real life. In this digital age, physical interactions remain deeply meaningful — a chance to connect, celebrate, and support local communities in an authentic way.

I can’t wait to see how the energy unfolds in Dallas! Texas has gone through so much this summer — from weather challenges to personal struggles, I know folks are looking for beauty, connection, and joy.

I’ll be speaking at the event and offering special event pricing at our Baby Yams booth, so I really hope you or someone you know can come by! Whether you’re a new auntie or uncle, grandparent, you’re expecting yourself, recently had a baby, or just love supporting Black women and Black-owned businesses, join us!

I want to say how proud I am of Stephanie Bauchum, the founder of Mtoto Agency and the Black Moms Fair. I first connected with her virtually about a year ago when she was just starting to bring this idea to life. Over the past year, her vision has grown powerfully. It’s driven by purpose, and it’s an honor to be part of such a meaningful gathering—I’m inspired by what she’s created.

If you know of anyone in the Dallas area, please forward this blog post to them so they can enjoy the Black Moms Fair too! And if you’re in Dallas or nearby, please stop by our Baby Yams booth! Browse our hand-crafted quilts, feel the love and care that went into each one, and leave with one of the most thoughtful, enduring gifts you can give — a Baby Yams quilt. They’re perfect for new parents, expecting moms, or anyone who loves to give a gift with purpose.

I’m really looking forward to this weekend, Dallas!! With every event, every conversation, and every connection made, I feel more inspired than ever and, I hope you do too.
